There are two main options for producing the Herd Register Report.
FarmWizard Beef Reports – The “Rolling” Herd Register
This report will display a timeline list of movements into and out of the herd over the past 12 months. You can download the information in spreadsheet (Excel XLS or CSV) or PDF format.
To run the report, go to the Herd Manager main menu and click Herd Register under the QA Reporting sub menu.
Design a Custom Report
You can design a custom report to only show a segment of the Herd Register. To produce the custom report, proceed as follows
1.Go to the Herd Manager main menu and click on Design Report under the QA Reporting sub menu
2.Set the required date range
|Select the From and To date range|
|Report option buttons|
3.If you only want to show live animals, tick the Only list live animals box
4.Press the required button to run the report. The button options are:
- List Moves In
- List Moves Out
- List Reportable Events (Births, On and Off movements)
5.The report will display on screen with options to download in spreadsheet or PDF format. The sort order of the on screen report can be changed by clicking on the required column heading (shown below)
Basic Animal Identity Lists
To produce a customised list of animals to print as hard copy or to download as a spreadsheet, proceed as follows:
1.Go to the Reports main menu and click on Animals under the Rule Reports sub menu
2.On the following screen tick the required boxes to select the columns that will display on the report
3.Use the drop down boxes and text boxes to define the list of animals for the report; for example, if you want to produce a list of animals currently on the holding, select “Live” in the State drop down list
4.Click List animals matching rule
5.You can download the report in spreadsheet format or click PDF to download the report for printing
Tip: if you want to download and print a worksheet-style report with space for recording notes, use the Notifications tick box
Near 30 Months Age Report
To produce a list of animals nearing 30 months of age, proceed as follows:
1.Go to Reports > Rule Reports > Animals
2.Select the required columns by ticking the boxes, but include the DOB and Age column options
3.Set the State drop-down to “Live” and enter the required Age Mths range e.g. 27 & 30
4.Optionally, tick “Include all herds”
5.Click List animals matching rule
6.When the report grid displays, click on the Date of Birth column heading to sort the records into age order
7.If you want to print the report, click Create PDF. Once the file has downloaded, the file can be printed from any software that can open a PDF file e.g. the free Adobe Reader
Vet and Med Reports
The FarmWizard software produces a range of veterinary-related reports suitable for farm assurance purposes, including medicine purchases and animal treatment records.
Animal Treatment Reports
Vet Treatment Rule Report
To produce a customised list of medicine treatments and veterinary actions, follow these steps:
1.Go to the Reports main menu and click on Treatments under the Rule Reports sub menu
2.Select the columns for the report by ticking the required boxes at the top of the screen
3.Use the drop down lists and text boxes to define the treatment records to be included in the report
4.Click List Treatments Matching Rule to create an on screen report. The report grid can be sorted by clicking on the desired column heading. You can download the report in spreadsheet format or as a PDF file for printing
12 Month Vet Treatments
To view treatments for the last 12 months, go to Reports > QA Reporting and click on Vet Treatments. The report grid can be sorted by clicking on the desired column heading.
TB Test Reports
TB Tests that have been recorded on FarmWizard can be viewed by clicking on Design Report under the Reports > QA Reporting sub menu. Set the date range using the From and To date picker controls at the top of the screen and click List TB Tests to show all TB test records within the defined date range.
Medicine Purchase Reports
12 Month Medicine Purchases
Go to Reports > QA Reporting and click on Medical Purchases to generate an on-screen report that can be downloaded in spreadsheet of PDF format.
Custom Medicine Purchase Reports
To create a custom medicine purchase report, go to Reports > QA Reporting and set the required date range at the top of the screen. Within the Medical Purchases section, you have two options:
1.Click List all Medical Purchases to generate a list of the entire medicine stock history
2.Select a filter name from the drop down list and type the value to filter on into the text box to the right. For example, a particular Batch Number or Purchase Date. Click Generate Filtered Report to create the report on screen.
Animal Performance Reports
FarmWizard produces a range of beef performance reports on a herd or individual animal basis. These reports are accessed from the Beef Performance sub menu under the Reports main menu.
Analysing Recorded Weights
To analyse animal weights go to Reports > Beef Performance and click on Weigh Analysis. A data grid will display all weights from the last 12 months grouped by date.
To view all the animals weighed on a listed date:
For the required date, click on Click for List in the Table View column. A data grid will display showing each animal identity with it’s current weight and weigh history. Daily Live Weight Gain (DLWG) is also shown.
To create a custom weigh analysis report:
1.Click on Design your own weigh report
2.Select animals to include in the report. There are two ways to do this:
- Define a filter by selecting from the drop down lists and entering text into the text boxes. Click Filter to select the animals
- Select animals from the list box. Hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and left click on animal IDs while scrolling down the list
3.Select a Date Range and optionally set a sort order for the report
4.Press the required button to generate the report:
- Create Graph – a line graph of the selected weigh data
- Create Detail – a data grid showing additional detail e.g. days on farm, sire identity
- Create Overview Table – basic information, including daily liveweight gain
